I have enjoyed the Clear Program twice already. As a professional Alpine Snowboarder, it is very important to eat healthily. Thanks to Clear I now have a nutrition plan that fits my body.
Before, I went to a dietician who made a schedule, based upon some conversations. To me, this was very disappointing, because everyone got the same plan. Then Clear crossed my path. By experimenting for two weeks, I got a much better idea about the foods that work for me and the ones that don’t.
I didn’t pay attention to new trends, diets, and other marketing any more and started only looking at the products that my body functions well on. I was able to see how my body absorbs the nutrients which enabled me to find my perfect diet. That is why I am so enthusiastic about Clear! To measure is to know, without marketing.
What I also found is that I should eat certain products at certain times. For example, I shouldn’t eat an apple before my race, but I can eat an apple after.
Thanks to Clear I can prepare even better for the World Cup competitions abroad!
The basic nutrition program has shown me that the foods that I thought were good for me, were actually bad for me. Because of this I was able to personalize my diet and increase my energy level.
As an Ironman triathlete I work out daily. Sometimes more than 18 hours a week. I practice my swimming, cycling, running, and visit the gym. At the moment besides a full-time job. A good and healthy diet is essential to me.
I have been working on my health for years. When cooking I take into account the proportions of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats and I make sure I eat a lot of vegetables. I time the fast carbohydrates around intensive sports moments. This is a job in itself, but there is always room for improvement. That’s when I discovered Clear.
It started with a clear introduction, where they explained to me about the 2 week program. It covers a lot of information about nutrition and how this affects my blood glucose level. During the program I received daily tips, from which I started to make the first changes to my eating pattern.
The Clear program gave me great personalized advice, that I would not have discovered myself! For me, it was not the food that I ate, but the timing and frequency of my meals and snacks. I now still use the outcomes!
I started Clear because I often had a stomach ache after eating , which was quickly accompanied by an energy dip that I couldn’t get out of so easily. I also found it very interesting what Clear focuses on: a tailor-made diet! Because you often get tips on what to eat or not to eat, but you have no idea if that works for YOUR body.
The program is also very clear, we started with a group all at the same time. Everyone had a different goal and different dietary needs (vegan, athlete, etc) and the program manager Jim always took this into account.
In the first week of the program I just ate everything I would usually eat (also in terms of quantity and frequency). Sometimes it was quite confronting to see (through the sensor and Clear app you can immediately see what the food you just ate does to your body) that you get a huge spike in your blood sugar level from what you ate, making you feel almost guilty. But the first week is mainly to get to know your body.
In week 2, I mainly started experimenting. Food that had a negative effect on my body in the first week was replaced by similar things (e.g. mayo was a big NO-NO for me, so I tried ketchup or vegan mayo). The program manager also gave some tips like ”let’s all try a banana today” or if I showed a spike on pasta, he suggested an alternative. That worked very well so at the end of week 2 you know a lot about which foods work well for you.
I learned a lot from it and I still apply it now. Or if I want to ignore it for a moment, at least I know where my energy dip or stomach ache comes from 😉
Lately I had to take more and more medicines to keep my type 2 diabetes under control. Also I gained a few pounds. Even though I have been controlling my diet for years and exercised enough. I cycle for 10 minutes on my exercise bike twice a day. I also walk a lot. But somehow my disciplined way of life stopped paying off. Did I do the right things?
Thanks to Clear I made some new discoveries! The rye bread I ate every day for lunch, and which was even recommended to me by a dietician, didn’t work well for me. My blood sugar rose sharply after this meal. My breakfast, low-fat yogurt with oat bran, didn’t seem to work either. I now have delicious alternatives: full-fat Greek yogurt with seeds, seeds and berries, and a delicious salad for lunch. I was also very surprised that I can eat dark chocolate better than carrots. 2 Times 10 minutes on an exercise bike turned out not to work. 1 30 Minute walk did however. I now also know how to eat sushi in a restaurant in a responsible way (with a limited sugar peak). I also found out that intermittent fasting works very well for me.
But best of all: within 3 months I have lost 7 kilos, my medicines have been reduced and I’m brimming with energy again!

There are so many theories as to why something is or isn’t good for you, who or what should you believe? I wanted to know what works well for my body, not the standard stuff. Then I ran into Clear. I’ve been thinking about it for a while. Would this work and how? And does it make sense for 2 weeks? Finally I did it and it was interesting! It was very nice to see how my body reacts to food. After 1 week I was already sad that it was only for a week. Still only 2 weeks left. This allowed me to experiment even more with food and exercise.
The nicest thing I’ve discovered is that lasagna works well for me and oatmeal, which I only ate because I thought it was healthy, didn’t work again. The tip to fast in a 16:8 regime works well for me too. Biggest benefits: More energy and less bloating.
Very nice and great that you can now become a member of Clear. That way I can keep measuring. Looking forward to getting started for a year!
